Messenger, el programa de mensajería instantánea de Microsoft que revolucionó las comunicaciones en red y las redes sociales, obliga a sus usuarios a actualizar el software a la última versión, si quieren poder seguir usándolo.
Los usuarios de las versiones 8.5 o 9.0 anteriores a la versión Messenger 9.0 14.0.8089 deben elegir entre actualizar el programa o dejar de utilizar todo el paquete Windows Live Messenger, no dando opción a continuar con anteriores versiones, que según los usuarios, eran más funcionales, prácticas y limpias.
Según Microsoft, la actualización de Messenger es necesaria por motivos de seguridad, además de ofrecer nuevas funcionalidades de la red Windows Live. Pero la verdad, es que desde hace algunas versiones, los usuarios ya andaban quejándose de que cada vez encuentran más funciones inútiles, publicidad, y problemas de usabilidad.
El próxima día 9 de noviembre, los usuarios de Messenger 2009 (versión 14) tendrán que actualizar forzosamente para poder seguir utilizando el servicio.
